Mission & Philosophy

Mission/Philosophy: It is the mission of St. Francis Xavier School to teach and share the traditions of the Roman Catholic faith and promote academic excellence through the total development of the child. Our programs combine a mixture of the traditional and the innovative:

We enlighten the mind and heart through the teachings of Jesus Christ.
We present an integrated curriculum with a strong foundation in the development of basic skills.
We promote personal responsibility and respect for ourselves and others through service.
We celebrate the diversity in the religious and cultural heritages of our students.
We instill the importance of developing a strong body as well as a sound mind.
We encourage a love and appreciation of self-expression through exposure to the fine arts.

In partnership with the parents, the acknowledged primary educators of their children, we guide each student to develop to his or her fullest potential, as a responsible citizen of the world, who is imbued with a strong set of moral values, a sense of service and a love of learning.

The faculty and staff of St. Francis Xavier School accepts the challenge of lay ministry in Catholic education. We seek to discover each child's talents, interests and needs. We seek to foster and guide each child in all areas of human development: spiritual, intellectual, psychological, sociological, physical and aesthetic.

Accreditation Information: St. Francis Xavier School if fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and fully certified by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).

We also provide a before/after-school  care program for children of working parents.

Our teachers and staff share a love of and a commitment to their students. In addition to homeroom teachers for each grade level, we also have specialists in the areas of reading, math, music, physical education and computer science. Teacher assistants trained for specific programs support our educational mission. We believe the education of the children in our care is a collaborative effort between the school and the family.

As your childs' first teacher, you play a big part in how well your son or daughter does in school.

We invite you to work with our teachers to help students get all they can out of their growing years.
