Welcome to St. Francis Xavier School. I am Samantha Sanchez, and I am honored to be the principal of St. Francis Xavier School.
As a school community, we strive to provide learning opportunities for all students while retaining our unique identity as a Catholic school. Our students learn about God, the Father and the life of Jesus. We teach about the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. We take great pride in the ability to practice the Catholic faith together as a community through rituals such as daily prayer, Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration. In addition, we encourage our students to live their faith by providing opportunities for service to the school, parish, and surrounding community. Educating the spirit and putting good deeds into practice are at the heart of the school’s mission.
We have a standards-based curriculum which is guided by the Archdiocesan, California State, and National standards. In addition to our core curriculum of Religion, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, we also offer additional programs in Art, Music, Computers, Physical Education and Spanish. We have also identified Schoolwide Learning Expectations for our students. These expectations connect the classroom learning to the purpose and mission of the school of educating children in body, mind, and spirit.
St. Francis Xavier teachers utilize educational technology in the classroom. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboard technology which allows the teachers to more actively engage students in lessons. Fifth grade through eighth grade are one to one with individual devices; either Chromebooks or iPads.
Our school also offers additional learning opportunities in extracurricular activities. These include theater, sewing, chess, choir, Student Council, California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF), Junior High Academic Decathlon, and Catholic Youth Organization sports.
We pride ourselves on preparing our students for the challenges and expectations of high school. Our dedicated group of teachers and staff work daily to educate each student and support them along their journey to academic and spiritual excellence.
The best way to learn more about our school is to make an appointment with me so that you can further explore what the school has to offer, have your questions answered, and receive a tour of our beautiful campus. Please call the school office at 818-504-4422 to make an appointment.
On behalf of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Community, thank you for your interest in St. Francis Xavier School. I look forward to meeting you and your family.
Ms. Samantha Sanchez
